Practice the Learner Permit Knowledge Test
You must pass the VicRoads Learner Permit Knowledge Test and be 16 years of age before you begin supervised driving on a learner permit.
This practice test will give you an example of the questions asked on the day of your learner permit test.
Practice the Hazard Perception Test
This practice test gives you an example of the skills needed to pass the VicRoads Hazard Perception Test (HPT).
The videos demonstrate real driving situations and you will be asked to “respond” to these situations by clicking the mouse.
In some scenarios you may not even need to respond, just by simply waiting or being a patient driver, will sometimes be the correct response. The HPT is all about how you perceive time, distance and your reaction time to potential hazards.
You must pass the HPT before you undertake the VicRoads drive test for your probationary licence. We recommend you do the hazard perception test at least a month before your drive test.
